Acupressure / Acupuncture
Acupressure (acupuncture without needles) and acupuncture are therapies based on a vast body of knowledge collected by the Chinese over 5,000 years. It is a system for diagnosing and treating diseases or energy imbalances within the body without laboratory testing or the use of drugs or surgery. This philosophy explains that there are 14 different meridians that run throughout the body. These meridians form a nervous system that affect organs, tissues, and everything that they pass through. These meridians also have mental and emotional components. Excess or deficient energy in these channels can cause illness, pain and mental or emotional imbalance. The acupressure/acupuncture system stresses that correcting meridian imbalance is important in achieving physical, mental and emotional well-being.
Classical acupressure/acupuncture can be used to treat over 2,000 different conditions including musculoskeletal, respiratory, circulatory, digestive, urinary, reproductive, and nervous system disorders.
There are 3 levels of acupressure/acupuncture treatment:
- Pain Control (pressing on certain points to reduce pain)
- Formula (using a combination of different points to treat a specific condition)
- Classical (finding the imbalance in the meridians through pulse or EMI testing, considered the highest form of acupressure)

Auriculotherapy
Auriculotherapy is a safe non-invasive form of electrical
stimulation to the external ear to relieve pain and aid in
the correction of mental/emotional, musculoskeletal and
organ malfunction. It is an effective treatment that can be
used for over 2,ooo conditions. Some include back pain, neck
pain, extremity pain (shoulder, hip etc.), arthritis, bursitis,
anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, respiratory problems,
digstive problems, reproductive problems and addiction.
The origin of Auriculotherapy began in China over 2,000
years ago. This therapy was also used in ancient Greece
and even throughout the Middle Ages. In 1982, the World
Health Organization established the International Standard
of Auricular points.
Auricular therapy is based on the principal that the whole body
is reflected In the ear. Therefore, ear points can be checked to
determine if malfunction or disease is present in a particular body
part. In addition, those ear points can be used to treat and aid in
the healing of that body part.
In the early 1950's, Dr. Norgier, a French Physician developed a "somatotopic map" of the human body (the inverted fetus) showing how the ear relates to the human body. Through extensive research over 20 years, he showed how treatment of the ear through needle-less electrical stimulation can aid in restoring health to diseased areas of the body. Dr. Nogier died in 1996. Since that time, other organizations such as the Department of Anesthesiology at UCLA and the Electrotherapy Association have done research showing Auriculotherpy to be effective for the treatment of chronic pain, narcotic withdrawal, smoking, weight control and even hearing loss.
At White Flint Natural Healing Center, our Chiropractors do needle-less Auriculotherapy using an electrical device, the Stim Flex 400. It is a state of the art medical device that can diagnose body areas needing treatment through auricular diagnosis. The device then administers the appropriate polarity current to create equillibrium in those ear points to facilitate healing and wellness in other body parts.
Nutrition By Biofeedback

Our chiropractors use a computerized biofeedback system to measure acupuncture points and determine imbalances in the meridians. After making a meridian diagnosis, they use biofeedback technology to select Chinese herbs and vitamins/minerals, to balance the acupressure/acupuncture meridians and nervous systems. In addition, we offer nutritional counseling and can test for over 150 different food allergies.
Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis
There is no general screening test that is more efficient and affordable
than a comprehensive blood chemistry panel. A comprehensive blood chemistry
panel will allow the healthcare provider to quickly assess the degree of
health or disease in a patient. It allows the healthcare provider to
establish a baseline of biomarkers that can be used to track the patient's
health immediately and over a period of time.
Functional Blood Chemistry allows Doctors to:
- Determine functional and pathological laboratory patterns
- Use nutritional and herbal compounds that can be used to support
abnormal functional patterns that may lead to disease.
- Refer for further testing or medications when necessary.
- Follow up with repeat testing to assess the effectiveness of
treatment.
